Current content and fast. Customers are interested in current content and they will not wait for it. Content that is not current, or delivered fast enough gets ignored.

Multiple development platforms. Your graphic artist works with Macintosh, your copywriter is Microsoft bound, your database runs on SQL. How do you integrate all of these platforms into a single project?

Variable Printing. Projects are increasingly demanding variable printing. Clients need a basic document created in 15 different versions, each targeted to a different customer segment. Couple each version with unique, customized addressing on each piece and now we have a project to write home about. Agencies have discovered that personalized documents increase response rates. Initial response rates are just the beginning; customer retention rates tell the rest of the story.

Print on Demand. Why stock reams of printed documents, running the risk of a word change, address change or picture change? Why not store the print document on disk and only print near term distribution requirements?

Transactional Printing. Using technology, transactional printing is becoming more commonplace. Clients are demanding totally unique documents for billing statements, pulling more than just invoice amounts, but also, tailored marketing communication based on customer demographic information contained in the database.
